Target Audience: Wheelchair users, especially those with spinal cord injuries
The feel of the problem: Painful, uncomfortable, and recurring. Wheelchair users, particularly those with impaired bladder control, are at a higher risk of urinary tract infections due to prolonged use of catheters or difficulty in emptying the bladder.
When: Frequently, especially in individuals who are unable to access bathrooms easily or who use catheters for extended periods.
Implication: UTIs can lead to fever, pain, kidney damage, and frequent hospital visits. They also negatively impact overall health and energy levels, making it harder for wheelchair users to carry out daily activities.
